Attention powder girls: the Aura is the Mantra specifically designed for women skiers. A lightweight wood core and pleasant, forgiving riding abilities make it the perfect powder tool for female freeriders, be it beginner or backcountry expert. However, the Aura works just as well on piste and it is just as dynamic and powerful as its team-mate, no matter the terrain. This skis has been tried and tested thoroughly by our international women freeride team - and the girls just loved it!
Volkl's longest running construction, Power Construction, utilizes traditional vertical sidewalls and a torsion box internal layup. Featured in Race Stock skis as well as Freeskiing models, this construction provides tremendous grip, stability, and sensitivity when combined with the Sensorwood core.
Continuing the tradition of innovation in Volkl's women's products, our engineers have developed new women's wood cores. Strips of Balsa are integrated in the laminations, giving the core lighter weight and softer flex. The selection of each core allows us to create the right performance and feel for any woman skier - lively and resilient, yet easy to handle in any conditions. |
Powder Magazine:
"Focusing on three key technologies - systems, construction, and a unique lower tip profile - the Aura is the Gloria Steinem of the women's specific movement. All Volkl's women's skis utilize a 20/20 wood core, which is lighter and softer thanks to strips of Balsa integrated into the lamination. The female samurai on the top sheet should give you all the motivation you need to ski these sticks full throttle. "
Skiing magazine: "Testers found the Aura highly maneuverable despite its wide waist. It moved swiftly through soft, deep snow and bounded through all but the hardest crud. Gripes: So light and soft it became nervous at speed - something a longer test length could have remedied. Props: A true floater that can also hold an edge; moves swiftly through deep snow. Tester's Take: 'The Auras bite hard and always leave you smiling.'"
