Rice Chex or Cheerios? Earl
Grey or Mate? Khakis or slacks? If you make a choice like
a spectator at Wimbledon (back and forth, back and forth)
then the new TX NTN may just be for you! Combining the worlds
of AT and Telemark the 'New Telemark Norm' is a psychological
savior for people who think they should make
the commitment to AT, but just can't bring themselves to
say goodbye to Telemark.
Dynafit and NTN compatible so you can go AT or tele with the same boot, Scarpa stays on the cutting edge of ski technology with the Terminator X. Scarpa does not recommend using this boot with a step-in AT binding as the bellows may potentially pop you out of your bindings.
The draw back of the TX is the limited sizes--only 26.5-31. |
May we introduce you to the New
Telemark Norm. No 'duck' toe, more power and control, same
freeheel spirit.

Liner: SCARPA Intuition Performance
Tour

Sole: Skywalk® Weight: 3.8 lbs/per boot
Sizes: 26.5-31 |
Powder Magazine: "The Scarpa T-X - another NTN boot - is a versatile option because it is also Dynafit compatible. What separates it from normal tele boots is that it doesn't have duckbill. Instead, with the NTN, the rounded front of the sole and the "second heel," a lip beneath the arch of the boot, are clasped by the binding. This creates a rigid interface to transfer energy and power directly to the ski edge. Other features include a thermo Intuition liner, three buckles and mid-stiff flex."
Backcountry (Sept. 07):" The Terminator
X is basically an old three-buckle T-1 cuff with an extra-high
Intuition liner. The extra height on the liner may be comfortable
for big boot fans, but only exacerbated the sense it was
oversized for this 'ol leather head. Surrounding the bellows
are slightly modified shell dimensions to increase lateral
stiffness and forward flex. Plus, this boot comes with Dynafit
tech fittings allowing you to switch hit between rando and
tele for when light means LIGHT with capitol letters all
the way. Performance-wise this boot rocks, making me wish
a lower cuffed, smaller version was available now."
