| Summary: The T-Race
remains the biggest baddest boot on the block .
No walk-mechanism dual density plastic, and no rocker toe,
the T-Race is now more race and park dedicated than ever. This
boot received a 2007 Powder Magazine 'Skier's Choice' award
as well as an award for Design Innovation from Couloir Magazine
in 2006. |
Performance without peer; built from the sole
up for maximum power.
Features:
-Dual-density Torsion Frame
for maximum lateral stability.
-4 Buckles will drive any ski
at maximum speed.
-Sole profile with reduced-rocker provides
immediate edge initiation.
-Comes standard with the Booster
Strap™ for added control.
-Fixed forward lean mechanism;
adjustable single-block of aluminum created a complete lock
between cuff and shell. |
Skiing magazine:
"All the bells and whistles on the T-Race are designed for optimum speed and power: a booster strap at the cuff, a stout internal skeleton, Intuition liners, and flat soles for instant turn initiation. Scarpa even eliminated the walk more - which, in some ways, says it all."
Powder Magazine '07: "Only a slight change
in the T-Race (and the less stiff T-1). Along with the same four-buckle,
high-performance stiffness, the boot comes with an Intuition
liner, a thermo liner that is more durable, lightweight and comfortable
than in previous Scarpas. Despite the upgrade, though, the boot's
price stays the same. The T-Race has a fixed forward lean and
no walking mechanism."
Backcountry (Sept.07):"Ever
wonder why alpine boots ski so much better than AT boots? Well,
the answer is in the walk/tour mode. This became beautifully
clear the minute I took the T-Race for a ride. They've got no
walk mode: simply a lock-block, which allows for the adjustment
of the forward lean. Bad for backcountry. Great for descending
any line on any ski. The difference in performance from the T1
to the Race is astounding.
