| Summary: The Scarpa T2X
returns unchanged from last season. The T2X can drive bigger
skis and bust through crud like nobodies business.
Not quite as stiff as the T1, the T2X remains a great boot
for touring with easy flexing bellows, but steps it up yet
another notch with micro adjust buckles and a replaceable
scuff guard. |
With solid alpine buckles on
the cuff and toe, and a relatively high cuff reinforced with
a lightweight power strap, the T2X delivers ample power for
today's generation of fat skis, without being overkill for
when weight matters. Steep, deep, firm or fast, the T2X delivers.
It's the archetypical do-anything, go-anywhere free-heel
boot.
Features: -Integrated dual-density Torsion Frame for maximum lateral stability -Asymmetrical, overlap cuff for maximum power -Ski/walk mechanism locks/releases the cuff for downhill control or touring comfort -Replaceable edge guard protects bellows and disperses forefoot buckle pressure

Backcountry
Magazine(07): "If you've been shying away from
big skis because your boots are too small to drive 'em,
but you don't want a big boot either, the T2X is the perfect
compromise. The T2X remains small enough to deliver turns
with finesse, but the taller cuff and alpine buckles deliver
ample power for driving skis up to 110mm at the waist.
Plus they're only a few ounces heavier than the T2, so
that makes 'em even more suitable for the backcountry.
Me? These are my inbounds power boot, or OB boot in firm
conditions."
Couloir Magazine: "Scarpa wanted to keep the same
tour ability of the original while giving it even greater
power to drive ever-fatter backcountry skis. With the generation-X
T2 of 2005, Scarpa appears to have met its goal and market's
desires."
Skiing magazine:
'06 "No boot in the history of telemarking has struck such a balance of comfortable tourability and downhill prowess. Last season's upgrades--a taller cuff, stiffer plastics, and a trio of micro-adjustable buckles--mean the boot can drive even mid-fat skis in almost all conditions.
'07 "A seriously downsized version of the T1 - three buckles, softer plastic, a lower spoiler, and one less pound - these boots are still plenty tough. THe wide-ranging walk/ski adjustment and the snug instep buckle give instant control and comfort from heel to toe box."
