| Scarpa Diva Alpine Touring
/ Randonnee Boot: Product Review |
|
|
| What the TelemarkSki staff thinks... |
What the manufacturer's Marketing Dept. thinks...
|
What independent testers think... |
| Our testers loved the control and fit of this
boot at testing in Keystone last winter. The Intuition liner
comes up above the shell eliminating that nasty rub on your
calf when hiking mile after mile. Even with a moderate and
comfortable cuff height , the stiffness exceeded our tester's
alpine boots. For all those women who have been skiing on men's
boots for the last few years, the time has come to enjoy the
explosion of the women's AT market and take advantage of the
women's specific technology behind this boot. Added bonus--
this boot in not only Dynafit compatible, but also comes with
two interchangeable tongues for a choice in stiffness. |
Strong enough for a man, yet made for a woman.
. .who skis anywhere she darn well pleases.
Features:
-4 easy
lock buckles with power strap for maximum power transmission
-SCARPA Intuition liner for no-sacrifice performance and comfort
-Compatible with ALL AT bindings, including Dynafit -Ski/walk
mechanism easy to engage and provides maximum touring flex
-Heel Retention System securely locks the ankle and heel
-Hinged
tongue for uninhibited forward flex when touring
-Dual-density
foot and overlap cuff for optimal support and drive. |
Backcountry (Sept. 07):"These
boots rip through any mogul field, smoothly turning through
tight tress and easily landing a spread eagle. Plus, the range
of setting is off the charts. I used all levels of adjustments,
from comfortable loose for boot packing to snug enough for
a powerful descent. The shell design also seemed to give more
where the buckles would normally pinch. Overall, I preferred
the stiffer of the two tongues--except for long tours when
the softer, hinged tongue came in handy."
