Summary: The Hip Chick is Rossi's dedicated
resort ski for women. But at 78mm at the waist, this one can
certainly hold its own in the event of a fresh dump. It also
makes a great lighter weight backcountry ski for those who
don't like touring with girthier skis. Of all the models in
Rossi's new line, the Hip Chick shreds up hardpack and bumps
with the most stable, snappy feel.

Backcountry: "The narrowest of Rossi's skis for women, the Hip Chick now has stiffened sidewalls for better edge grip. Given the influx of wider, more powerful skis, the Hip Chick didn't fly as high as it did last year. Good at sort and medium turns - ''very turny' - it proved to be a good mid-range ski for most testers, several of whom thought it would be a good ride for lightweight women with softer boots. 'Good for beginner/intermediate skiers.' ... 'A ski [that's] easy-turning.'"
Couloir magazine '06: "'Lively', 'snappy' and 'playful', the Hip Chick impressed testers with its ability to take on a variety of conditions, balancing a little extra weight with fast edge-to-edge turning that rewarded skiers for aggressiveness. One tester pointed out its agility when she took it for jump turns on the steeps, while another recognized the handsomely sized tip that held its own in powder. While they plead to be seen and skied at the resort, the Hip Chicks hold their own in the variable conditions of the backcountry. For those looking to bring their skiing to the next level, lthe Hip Chick will take you there in style."
Skiing magazine:
"Our agrressive skiers raved about the Hipchick's zippy, energetic feel in conditions that ranged from firm groomers to packed powder to moguls. Particularly impressive in long turns at speed. All-mountain, all conditions power." |
