Karhu Betty Telemark / AT Ski: Product Review
What the TelemarkSki staff thinks... What the manufacturer's Marketing Dept. thinks... What independent testers think...
Summary: Snappy, playful, and responsive - the Betty is a true performer in all conditions. These skis offer great edge control and stability and love making quick turns and railing on hardpack.

Developed by Karhu's female telemark and AT athletes and validated by its popularity with women across the country, the Betty brings all-mountain performance to Karhu's proven women's construction. The Betty's mid-fat shape balances carving performance and edgehold with go-anywhere flotation. Using the Greenlight core and Die-Cut Titanal for enhanced performance and edgehold on firmer snow without a penalizing swingweight and quickness, the Betty is nimble and confident on any terrain.

Backcountry magazine: "Karhu calls the Betty a 'mid-fat' but it remains the narrowest ski in their line. It returns with a lighter wood core and new graphics. Betty's not best in firm conditions... It did better on softer snow and crud. Most testers found it a skier-friendly ride. 'Easy turn initiation, smooth-flexing ski... Makes great medium and small radius turns. Large sweet spot, very forgiving.' Said a ripping young tester: 'Great all-around ski ...Quick and fun in the tight trees. Very responsive ski. This would be one of my top picks to take on a hike/skin.' As for the West: 'Lightweight, easy to ski...'"

Couloir magazine: "Gifted with a big sweet spot, the Betty is an all-conditions cruiser who loves short to medium radius turns in wind-buff, hardpack, bumps and steeps. Stable and forgiving, she won't be too hard on you if you make a wrong move. An active, lively, do everything ski, she has a firm hold on hard snow and stays grounded at speed."
"With a locked heel, Betty's wide shovel lends a smooth arc to each turn, particularly in soft snow."

Skiing magazine:
"Built around a light, springy core that's reinforced with titanium, Karhu's Betty got props for its solid, predictable manners." For the experienced free-heeler, it's responsive and stable.
