| Summary: The World Piste has been the best selling ski in the industry for three years running. The reason is a comfortable flex, the smoothness of a wood core, and a versatile sidecut that can take you from hardpack to slush to powder with ease and agility. It remains structurally unchanged from last year, but is updated with groovy graphics reminiscent of the 1969 Seattle Pop Festival. This ski can accommodate novice skiers looking for something to grow with their skill level, or the skiers who believe in the credo "one skier, one ski"--the ultimate quiver of one. |
In July of 1969, 50,000 people gathered to watch The Doors, The Byrds, Guess Who, Led Zeppelin, Santana, and 20 other bands perform at the Seattle Pop Festival. At that time, it was the largest collection of Telemarkers ever assembled. The World Piste has been the best selling ski in the industry for three years running, and is our celebration of that "summer of love". With two sheets of metal, it's smoother than a Carlos Santana groove, and its deep sidecut make it as quick and accurate as a John Bonham drum solo. You know, we might just have 'world piste' if everyone tele'd.

Skiing magazine:"It's been on the market for seven years, but the WOrld is not a mere relic. New this year is a two millimeter boost in waist width. It's still predictable, solid, and versatile in most conditions. Gripes: The tip gets floppy - and the ski feels sluggish - at speed. Props: A good ski for all abilities."
Backcountry magazine: "The World continues to be K2's best seller, widened last year and changed this year only in its Fillmore graphics. East and West, most testers agreed that this is, well, your bud. It's still easy and relevant - with a preponderance of testers 'all-around' - despite what is, these days, a midfat sidecut. 'Super easy to ski. Reliable. Damp but not dead,' ...'Good rebound but not snappy; solid in all turns. Smooth and silky no matter what speed or turn.' 'Does everything well - quick, responsive and holds well. Easy turn initiation.' Women skied the 174cm without protest." |
