| Many, many miles have been skied around here in the Garmont Mega-Rides. The Dynafit compatible boot of choice in the Elk Mountains, the Mega-Ride can take you places you've only pointed to. Don't forget that in order to ski out there, you have to get there first, and the lightweight comfort of this boot will have you skipping up the skin track. You'll love having that extra energy at the top of the pitch. Don't fret about the soft flex; the Mega-Ride still upholds to tough breakable crust, supportable corn, or fortuitous powder. |
The Mega Ride is our lightest weight 4-buckle performance ski mountaineering boot for the aggressive ski mountaineer. It's extremely versatile: light enough for classic go-fast ski tours, beefy and supportive enough for difficult off-piste freeriding. Its reinforced tongue and double-injected cuff give it remarkable downhill performance without sacrificing light weight and tourability. Compatible with both the traditional step-in and Dynafit ultra-light binding systems, Mega Ride-ers can enjoy the option of an ultra-light binding and ski system for their classic ski touring, or a beefy ski with a step-in binding for freeriding and touring for turns.
The Mega Ride is available with our superb-fitting, lightweight, comfortable G-Fit 3 custom thermoformable liner. Its new buckles are light, sturdy Magnesium. The lower buckles have Garmont's "Ice Breaker" pin to reduce icing. The new Magnesium canting system is precise and easy to adjust. |
Backcountry magazine: "This
Megaride is my personal choice for an all-around performer.
I have asked for a lot out of these boots, from long tours
to skiing in less than ideal conditions, and have never
been disappointed. With four-buckle power and a dynamic
walk mode, this boot will go on whatever adventures you
have in mind. On top of all of that, it is Dynafit compatible
so you can even shave some extra ounces while still enjoying
excellent performance on the way down. Like the Endorphin,
I would like to see Garmont redesign their liners to get
rid of laces, but they seem to work just fine without them."
Couloir: "The
Garmont Mega Ride is a budding superstar, fully kitted out
with every feature a serious backcountry skier could want,
including four buckles and a power strap for maximum fine-tune
fit, a thermoformable G-Fit liner, a bomber build with excellent
torsion and forward stiffness, Dynafit compatibility, and
minimal weight given its control and stability..best walking
boot of the higher performance category - a trait that's
common throughout the line..a harmonious blend of high-performance
skiing and tourability."...
Skiing magazine: "The Mega-Ride is a backcountry boot that can handle inbounds forays. Testers found the cuff a bit
low for bigger skis, yet the boot inspired confidence when teamed with the right mid-fats - even in death mank. Two forward lean settings and an ergonomic walk mode round out the amenities."
