Product Review |

Summary - The G3 Targa T/9 is a lighter
weight version of the Targa. If you want the proven performance
of the Targa in a package that can get you up the skin
track even faster, consider the T/9.
The T/9 comes from the same mold as the Targa, but uses a lighter weight metal
aluminum alloy in the toe plate and the heel tubes. The difference? - 6.8oz.
The T/9 won't hold up to abuse quite as well as the Targa, so if you are primarily
at the area and ski fast and aggressively - stick with the Targa. If you are
usually in the backcountry and want to lose a few ounces on your feet, try the
T/9.
Most skiers opt for the "CrossTour" cartridges, but aggressive skiers
with big boots will get more performance out of the
"XMountain" option. We don't sell too many "WorldCup" cartridges,
but if you ski at ridiculous speeds and huck yourself off
every cliff you see, you just might want them. |
A truly innovative telemark binding, the
TARGA telemark binding comes standard with features not found
on any other telemark binding - including the new rear tour
throw. The heart of the TARGA's strength lies in the hardened
stainless steel toe plate. Finite element models were used
to optimize the strength-to-weight ratio The TARGA T/9 is
the ultra-light version of the G3 TARGA telemark binding.
The innovative use of aerospace alloy aluminum toe plates,
stainless steel toe bars and aluminum heel tubes saves weight
without sacrificing durability. The TARGA T/9 is the ultimate
in proven telemark binding technology.
> Lightweight performance
> Aluminum toe plate and heel tube saves weight without sacrificing strength
> Robust stainless steel toe bar provides maximum durability
> Compatible with K2 inserts |
Skiing magazine:
"A lighter version of the G3 workhorse, the T/9 is standard backcountry fare. Aluminum-alloy toe plates shed grams, three cartridges make it customizable, and the patented TourThrow--which keeps your boot in the cable but reduces the energy-sucking pressure of your bindings--keeps your tips up while breaking trail."
Couloir: "The G3 Targa is once again
our pick for Editor's Choice - Proven Performance..Functional
both on the up and the down, they are the benchmark of neutral,
single-pivot performance. Testers liked the smooth forward
flex and were really enthusiastic about Targas in soft snow.
They're easy to install, easy to adjust, and the plastic plate
prevents snow buildup underfoot. Tried and true for most.
The Targa's classic neutral flex engagement requires solid
skills to push big boots and skis, especially in challenging
snow conditions..If the sheer number of G3's already mounted
on skis isn't testament enough to their mass appeal, how 'bout
the fact that the first telemark skis with mounting inserts
use the G3 mounting pattern?"
Backcountry magazine: "Targa's simplicity and reliability
has made it the most popular binding on the market. With
a clean design that is easy to adjust and service, features
like their anti-icing toe plate, and four types of compression
spring cartridges, this cable binding is a favorite among
straight-liners and powder-miners who appreciate a more
neutral feeling binding" |
