G3 Aviatrix Telemark / AT Ski: Product Review
What the TelemarkSki staff thinks... What the manufacturer's Marketing Dept. thinks... What independent testers think...
Summary: Built specifically for women, the Aviatrix is solid underfoot and quick to turn. With a flex just right for lighter weight skiers, this ski is a top contender for the best all-around women's ski. Unlike a lot of women's skis, the Aviatrix is not afraid of speed or timid when you're throwing-down a carve (read: stable!). The Aviatrix is the guide's ski built specifically for women, our most versatile women's model. The compact lengths and sweet, round flex appropriately softer for its lighter passengers, differentiate the Aviatrix from the boy's toys. The Aviatrix is constructed with the versatile, nomadic attributes of the Baron, rock solid and snappy in the most demanding downhill conditions, while svelte enough for touring. This is the best women's, one-quiver alpine touring or all-around telemark ski out there.

Couloir '06: "Modeled after the guide-style Baron, the Aviatrix exemplified the same 'do-everything' spirit with an even flex and large sweet spot for predictable performance and ease in the worst of off-piste conditions. The appearance of tip turbulence concerned a few testers, but the Aviatrix plowed on regardless of its light weight, busting through mush, chop, and everything else in the way. A great choice for tackling 'Sierra cement '...showed grace under fire as a light, strong vehicle for both backcountry and resort skiing."
AT: "...a great multi-purpose ski, pointing out its F16-like maneuvering capabilities and the responsiveness to 'turn on a snowflake.' While the shovel was again troublesome to AT skiers who complained of tip dive in the powder, all testers admired the solid edgehold as an endorsement of this ripper's ability to strut its stuff on-piste."

Backcountry magazine: "G3 touts this as the most versatile of their two femme-dedicated skis (the fatter siren is archived). Though it was tested only in the East, the Aviatrix saw a wide range of conditions. And most women liked the flight, several simply saying that the ski was fun: 'This ski handled well in the woods; could make nice short-turn radius turns.' ... 'Very easy to turn; nimble and playful - good for skiing in trees and bumps.' ... 'They get giddy happy when you're doing quick, short turns.'"
