Dynafit Mustagh Ata AT / Randonnee Ski: Product Review
What the TelemarkSki staff thinks... What the manufacturer's Marketing Dept. thinks... What independent testers think...
Summary: Named for the record setting speed ascent of the western Chinese peak, this special edition version of the Carbon 10.0 will please the most discriminate of backcountry ski mountaineers. Taking Freeriding skis to the summit of the world's highest peaks, let alone skiing down them, is no longer a dream. Fat, powerful, and oh-so-light!

Dynafit athletes Benedikt Bohm and Sebastian Haag shattered high altitude ski mountaineering records during their testing of this ski, skiing off 24,757 foot high (7546 m) Mustagh Ata peak deep in China, in a record setting 10 hrs 41 minutes round trip!

What's that got to do with you? Imagine doubling your vertical and getting twice as many untracked runs each tour because your fat skis are so light on your feet?!

-Made in Innsbruck, Austria
-Full Abachi ultra-light, trapezoid cut, wood core. Edge to edge wood
-Full carbon fiber layer for torsional rigidity and dampening
-Graphically beyond your wildest Chinese Tiger imagination
Couloir Magazine: "Dynafit souped up the platform of the Freeride Carbon 10.0 with a lighter core construction through more carbon for a high performance mountaineering ride called the Mustagh Ata. In heavy conditions, a couple testers had a hard time finding differences from the stability and tracking of the 10.0, echoing its performance. For the majority though, the result was a lighter ski that made even, reliable turns across a wider range of styles and turn radii than its heavier sibling: 'More responsive than the 10.0, better in short turns.' 'Swingweight makes super-easy, quick turns." Pair the Mustagh Ata with any of Dynafit's light bindings, and you'll definitely have a ski mountaineering combination worthy of tackling the ski's namesake peak."
