Summary - The Atomic Saipal is built
around the popular Femme Fatale ski. It keeps the same shape
and flex, but is even lighter under-foot.
This women's specific ski is a little softer flexing than
the Diran, especailly in the tail - a flex patter designed
to compliment women's skiing style. The Atomic Saipal is an
all-around performer that is a great choice for the beginning
to advanced skier - great on both hard-pack and soft snow
conditions. It also makes an excellent light-weight alpine
touring ski.

The Saipal uses the same sidecut, design and construction as the Diran. It uses a women's specific flex which means it is similar to the Diran in the tip and midsection. However, the tail is 8% softer in longitudinal flex than the Diran and torsional flex throughout both skis is similar. |
Backcountry magazine: "Another
women's-specific ski to grace Atomic's telemark line (after
last season's Femme Fatale), the Saipal is a weight-conscious
touring ski that likes to carve as well on lift-served terrain."
Couloir magazine '05: "A stiff, lightening fast, smooth
snow carver with a penchant for long turns, this speed racer
is made to rule ice and hardpack....The Saipal is a perfect
choice for east coasters, racers, and speed demons who seek
out the corduroy. Fairly lightweight, the Saipal is also a
good choice for backcountry tours where you'll encounter firm
in the first part of the day and corn in the afternoon."
'06::"It's zippy sidecut and unbeatable edgehold finished medium-radius turns smoothy, accelerating into the next one with tummy-tickling speed. Its stiff and strong magnesium-capped chassis ruled the resort and left our testers with the ear-to-ear grins of g-force packed turns...A sinker in mush, its stiffness did translate well into off-piste crud, given its dimensions. With a great weight-to-performance ratio, the Saipal is best matched to lighter and more aggressive skiers looking for a resort and backcountry corn ride."
Powder magazine: "...the Solid Gold dancer of (the
05-06 Atomic line)"
