Base Rating Guide
To make purchasing used and demo skis easier, we've developed this simple base rating system. If you're interested in a particular pair of used skis and would like further information on their condition, please email us at sales@telemarkski.com or call 970.468.5687.
| Rating | Description |
| 10 | Brand New |
| 9 | If I didn't know these were used, I'd think they were new |
| 8 | Almost new but with superficial scratches on base or edges |
| 7 | Some base scratches or gouges. No core shots. Some rough edges |
| 6 | One or two core shots that have been well repaired (Ptex is smooth); edges are still straight; any core shots do NOT affect the edge |
| 5 | Several repaired core shots; or one or two core shots with poor repair work; or repaired core shot is next to edge. |
| We don't sell skis with bases lower than a 5 rating | |
| 4 | Unrepaired core shot or shots; and/or slight edge deformation |
| 3 | Several unrepaired core shots; and/or serious edge deformation |
| 2 | Were you skiing on broken glass and razor blades? |
| 1 | Not skiable |
